Jekyll & Hyde

Re-contextualising the novel Jekyll & Hyde. I looked into the idea of split personality and the subtle complexity within the story. I started by separating Jekyll and Hyde in the story to individual parts.

I then researched into work by the likes of Escher and his subtle transformations within pattern forms. I used this idea of geometric patterns to design each chapter into it's own isodecahedron (representing the complexity). Each page of each chapter shows both parts of the story but it doesn't make sense when read in the book form. When the pages are folded and made into the isodecahedron the Jekyll part of the story makes sense on the outside as it is in order, but the Hyde parts end up being on the inside of the shape. This is frustrating when reading the story as both parts can't be read in order at the same time.
