ERRORS & EVOLUTION
A collaborative project in progress with Louise Davison looking at how mistakes affect the evolution of our design process.
It all started by my scanner braking this inspired us to look into mistakes exploring their concept and the variety, man-made and machine-made (out of our control.)
Focusing on the act of discovery, the detail unseen and the revealing of something new.
These tapestries represent the process which we have been through and encourage the idea of how errors when working often help us to explore other ways of working. This was inspired by a photocopy we made of a print we did when zooming in to a section, it resembled threads and a gridded form. We have sewn a section from the scan which inspired this project in the beginning, but we are now amazed with the narrative revealed on the back of the sewing.
This project is continuing as we are exploring the fact something could continuously be evolving...
